OFFICIAL ENTRY THREAD to mangaproductions SPRITE 4 YOUR LIFE contest

BackStory:
A good friend of mine, has chalenged he of signifigant stature, your beloved deviled king psilocybe, to a spriting duel, if you will. To what extent will our infinate mercy meet no bounds? Well in the short and sweet, the loser will owe the victor a copy of BlazBlue (a gentalmens challenge between friends) and of course, if one of you win, i suppose nothing happens.. i dunno.. i'll offer you gold or something. See, he is DETERMINED that his sprite work is of a finer quality that than of MOI, of my superb statue, who lives for the very endevour

But a compitition among comrade was not enough, we had to take it to the main stream, is why i come to this forum today, to offer the arists among you, that very same challenge.

Who among you is the Best of the Spritest, if you will. Shall you partake in our fantastic little game? Just sign your name on the thread below to enter~!



Requirements:

= contestants should at least adhere to the minimum size parameters of about 200 x 200 pixels. larger dimensions are acceptable.

= sprite must be every frame of a complete action
(animation NOT required, but prefered)

= sprite CAN be of a desired 2-d or 3-d format

= sprite must be an ORIGINAL creation (no edits, or pallette changed sprites)



Deadline:

All submissions must be recieved by Febuary 4th, 2009 (3 weeks from this very date)

the appropriate changes have been made to the requirement detemined by democratic vote. contestants going for a largers size would only have that much more time into their sprite after all.

SO, Here is my entry for the spriting contest (I've decided to submit this early because I'm not certain if i'll be near the internet at exact moment of contest deadline)

It took me nearly 3 (or 4?) hours in total from preliminary sketch to final product in 1 evenings futile stretch for me to plop this (not so) disappointing display of my efforts..

On a personal note, I myself believe the animation is VERY incredibly smooth (except for the one instance where the boobs spring back unbelievably violently), and my only real problem with the peice is the actual artwork itself (I feel as if i half-assed it, because i had, and sort of feel as if I should have taken this more seriously, but didnt because I didnt expect to sell this to anyone, just a friendly wager, and I have WAAAY too many games for me to be spending more than an evenings worth of work on something so trivial)

So without further delay.. (and since I couldn't decide between the two, just pick your favorite when deciding the winning peice)

its cool looking

(looks alot like Raen) its fairly decent quality though.. i totally see that in a game..

unlike mine, taht looks like someone took a 4 hour >.< with photoshop



meh, we need other opinions though
